Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

In a dating and courtship relationship, I would not have you spend five minutes with someone who belittles you, who is constantly critical of you, who is cruel at your expense and may even call it humor. Life is tough enough without having the person who is supposed to love you leading the assault on your self-esteem, your sense of dignity, your confidence, and your joy. In this person’s care you deserve to feel physically safe and emotionally secure.

Devotional with Elder Oaks

Gospel wisdom also dictates that you should refrain from resisting personal change by insisting “that’s the way I am.” Don’t create a barrier to progress by tying yourself to your past experiences or your present capabilities. Saying “that’s the way I am” anchors you to the past or the present, and prevents personal progress. None of us is a finished product. The major message of the gospel is repentance, and repentance means change. Open the door to change in your own life. Look ahead and move on down the road toward better things in yourself.

Elder Durrant

Hola Family
Well, I have survived transfers and I´ll get to be here for a while longer. Elder McConkie is going to fly home today and those three weeks with him went by really fast. The last three days were very nervous for me because on Sunday night, after 11:00 when all the calls are supposed to be done, the President called me and asked me to be a Trainer these coming transfers. So yesterday I went down to Malaga to get Elder Depew right out of the CCM. There is a lot more to this than I realized. It´ll be a really good learning experience for me, I think I´m beginning to appreciate Elder Olsen, my trainer, a lot more.
I´m in the same spot that he was when he trained me. We got 10 new missionaries, 5 elders and 5 hermanas, and the guys who are Training are really great elders. I don´t know how President picked me for this, but I never know how he does what he does. It was a crazy Hermana-fest in the training meeting, you just don´t get what that means unless you know the herms. Elder Depew is from Georgia, a few hours north of Atlanta in a town called Arwith? I think that´s what it´s called.
I hope that Mark and Lindsey´s wedding goes well, tomorrow right? That is so wierd, Mark didn´t even really date when I was home and now he´s getting married. My district has come to the conclusion that´s really wierd. Not that he´s getting married, just the way I put it more or less.
The baptism doesn´t seem to be likely to happen this Saturday, but next wednesday I´ll know better to tell you guys the details. It´ll happen and it´s going to be a great day for Sevilla.
Thanks for reading Your son/bro/whatever.
