I am one Lucky Mom!

Here are some pictures taken recently of Matthew in his Halloween costume with his cousins. Our goal was to dress him like Woody from Toy Story. He got very into playing the sheriff role and is very excited for Trick or Treating on Halloween. Also there are pictures of Lucy in her blessing dress and Matthew in his new suit. I know they are my own, so I won't claim to be unbiased, but don't I have some of the most beautiful children!!! Mark and I feel so blessed to have Matthew and Lucy in our lives.

Brigham City Temple

We are VERY excited about getting temple here in Brigham City. And I am sure that as construction begins (or remodeling of the tabernacle) that we will be posting lots of photos. It is amazing to think that even though we are sandwiched between the Logan and Ogden temples that we will have one here in Brigham. Also, the bishop in the below video is our bishop.

BYU Football

Matthew and I had the chance to go with my Dad to the BYU vs CSU football game this past weekend. It was tougher having him there than I had anticipated but he seemed to enjoy being there. He even made friends with the kid sitting behind us - he shared his cars with him and they played on the bleaches and in the stairs for most of the third quarter. The funniest part was that Matthew and this other little boy HAD to play on the stairs (we were like 4 rows from the top of the stadium) so in the video you can see a few people very graciously walking around the boys.

Peach Days

For Peach Days this year the young women's went down and painted faces after the little kids parade on Friday (you can see that Lucy got a little heart and Matthew got a sun on his cheek). The kids parade was fun but Matthew was pretty scared of the whole thing and just hung on to us the entire time. But by the next morning he seemed to have gotten over his fear of parades (I am sure all the candy being tossed out didn't hurt) and he really seemed to enjoy being there with his cousins. He really loved seeing the horses in the parade (especially the "tiny horsey" that was pulling a lady in a cart).

Matt and Emily's Wedding

The bottom photo is a our vain attempt to get a semi decent family - as you can see a crying baby and an uninterested two year old make it pretty tough to get a nice picture. The top photo is one that Emily's sister took at the temple (more of their wedding photos are here).

Baby Announcements

Here are some of the baby announcements that I put together for our little Lucy Mae. The bottom one was a quick mock up what Lindsey was initially kind of wanting. But the picture was of Lucy as just a day or so old and we needed a little better picture. So we ended up changing the picture and a few things on the design of it.

Lucy Comes Home

Lucy came home yesterday and seems to be adjusting just fine - except for last night from 1:30 to 4:00 AM when she didn't want to eat and just cried but other than that she is doing great. And since we have been home Matthew has been very "helpful" - he just can't seem to do anything without wanting to know where Lucy is (Lucy was the very first thing he asked for when he woke up from his nap). And then this morning he decided that he would read her a book. So after putting lots of pillows around those two and while standing very close to them he attempted to read her a book (see the video below).

More on Lucy

Here is another picture of little Lucy and then a video of her just hanging out in the hospital. Once she gets home we will be able to get better pictures but hopefully this will let everyone see how darn cute she is!

Lucy Mae Durrant

Lucy Mae was born today, August 5th 2009, at 5:23PM, weighed 8 lbs and 7 ounces, and was 20 inches long. We think that she is absolutely adorable! Here are a few pictures - don't worry there will be more pictures to come soon.

Our final attempt to get Lucy here

In a last ditch effort to get Lucy here we decided to take a little hike - I emphasize little and non strenous. Sadly though this didn't do much if anything at all to encourage Lucy to come quicker.

4th of July

For the 4th of July we went to the Brigham City fireworks - which we have to say are pretty good for such a little city. It was great because we were able to just lay out on the baseball diamond and watch the fireworks go off above our heads. The clip below is of Matthew watching them and about half way through he says, "more please" which is pretty cute and then the bottom clip is just of the firework show (the entire thing probably lasted almost 30 minutes).

Happy Birthday Matthew!

Matthew's birthday was actually last Friday but he ended up not feeling so well last Thursday so our pediatrician recommended that we have his birthday party another day - so yesterday was the day. Matthew has been saying, "my party Friday" for the last few weeks so we knew that he was excited. And after everything was over he said, "my birthday tomorrow?" so it appears as if it was a success.

Garden Update

After that long and rainy spring things are really starting to grow. We also have potatoes, watermelon, pumpkins, zucchini, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, and onions but I think I have already posted more than enough pictures already. It is nice to have a yard and a big garden but we are learning VERY quickly that it is also LOTS of work!
