Matthew speaks!

So a month or so ago Matthew really started to talk. He learned lots of names and a bunch of other words which he uses almost daily so I decided that I would record him speaking and then make a little "movie" out of it. To make a long story short it is really tough to get him to speak on "command" so that I could record it - and it took forever for me to get the time to throw this video together. Anyways he speaks much more clearly now and knows many additional words like sorry, love you, etc. but at the time I recorded these were the words that I had the patience to capture.

Draper Temple Open House

This last Wednesday I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Draper temple open house with the Young Womens group. Like for many of the girls it was my first open house. The temple is smaller but so beautiful. It was so different from any of the other temples I have been to. Very simple, modern and breathtakingly elegant. There were actually a lot of rooms where I would have loved to have had the same colors and furniture in my own house. For me and most the girls our favorite rooms were the celestial room and brides dressing room. The celestial room felt like heaven on earth, like many of the celestial rooms I have been in. And I cant help but imagine the girls who sit down at those mirrors in the dressing room on their wedding day will feel like nothing less then a princess. It truly was an amazing experience and I know that for the girls it gave them something to look forward to.

Baby number 2!

If anyone didn't already know, Lindsey is pregnant and we will be welcoming baby Durrant #2 into our family this coming summer. Truthfully we didn't plan on telling many people this soon but the word got out lots quicker than we had planned so we apologize if you heard in a very informal manner or just through the "grape vine". Anyways here are the first ultrasounds (you can't see much). And just as an aside, we had the missionaries over for dinner on Sunday and Elder Gifford picked up the ultra sound and declared that it is a girl. So if we end up with a girl we may have to enlist Elder Gifford's services in the future!

BYU basketball game

Last week we had the chance to go to the BYU and Wake Forest basketball game down at the Marriott Center. It was by far the loudest sporting event that I have ever been to and it was so hot it really felt like we were in a sauna (they said it was the second biggest crowd at the Marriott Center). And to make matters worse the refs made plenty of really poor calls that just made the place get even louder. Even though BYU couldn't pull off the win it was a really fun game to be at. Matthew even got into the game and waved his little fist while singing "Rise and Shout".
